Company Profile

IMC Group (IMC) was incorporated as the Indian Molasses Company in the year 1935, primarily for import and export of molasses. IMC is in the business of liquid bulk and dry cargo port-based terminals, operations and maintenance services and international trading for over seven decades.

Liquid Bulk Terminals - Storage Network

IMC currently offers storage for bulk liquid at kandla, Pipavav, JNPT, Mumbai, Goa, Karwar, Mangalore, Cochin, Chennai, Ennore, Kakinada, Vizag, Kolkata and Haldia Ports. The combined capacity is in excess of 1 million kilo liters for storage petroleum products, liquefied gases, petrochemicals, acids and vegetable oils. At Kandla, IMC is operating a liquefied gas terminal for storing butadiene and compatible gases. This expertise in handling hazardous and non-hazardous liquids has enabled the company to serve a wide range of customers including public sector companies, traders and multinational corporations.

At IMC, quality, safety, health and environmental protection are of prime concern. IMC´s Mangalore, Mumbai, JNPT, Goa, Karwar, Ennore, Kandla, Budge Budge and Handia terminals are certified for Quality Management System under ISO 9001:2008 standards by Det Norske vertas. Efforts are on to secure certification for other terminals in the near future.

Dry Cargo Terminals

IMC is foraying into the development and operation of dry cargo terminals. Presently, IMC implemented the Multipurpose Cargo Terminal No.15 at Kandla Port under a 30 year BOT Concession.

International Trading

IMC has firmly established itself as the largest and most reliable merchant exporter of molasses from India. Backed by its experience in handling a variety of products and infrastructure network, IMC has diversified its trading activities into a wide range of products including agro commodities and fuels. IMC supplies high quality imported fuel oils, molasses and alcohol in bulk to industrial customer at the ports of their choice. IMC will continue to focus on export and import opportunities for a wide portfolio of commodities and products and enhance supply chain competencies for providing end-to-end logistics solutions.

Outsourcing Services

As part of expansion plans, IMC is gearing up to set up port-based and related infrastructure projects on BOOT/BOT/BOO basis. For industrial customers, IMC offers to construct and operate liquid and dry bulk terminals under long term contracts. IMC is committed to be the outsourcing logistics partner of choice by providing end-to-end supply chain solution to the total satisfaction of customers.

IMC also provides Operations and Maintenance services for liquid and dry cargo terminals.

Future

IMC has active plans to expand its existing storage terminals at Kakinada and Haldia ports. Future plans including the network to new location like Dighi and Tuticorin ports. These initiatives will enable customers of have multiple options and the flexibility to decide on the port through which they want to import or export their raw material and products.
