One of IMC’s future objectives is to become a leading infrastructure company with international presence. IMC would leverage its expertise and experience in the development, construction, operation and management of port-based terminals.
IMC has already made a foray into the infrastructure sector. In November 2004, Ennore Port Limited (Ennore is a Major Port, located 20 kilometers north of Chennai Port) awarded a 30 year Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) License to IMC-led consortium to develop the 3 million tonne per annum Marine Liquid Terminal (comprising of liquid jetty and multi-product tankfarm).
IMC is currently focusing on participating in infrastructure projects in various sectors on BOT/BOOT/BOO basis. In the port sector, apart from liquid terminals, IMC is also planning to develop dry bulk and general cargo terminals.
